Lodgely was born from years of firsthand experience watching good projects stall over avoidable compliance issues. We built the tool we always wished existed.

The Problem

Permit delays are expensive.
Most of them are avoidable.

Every builder and draftsperson knows the feeling — a project that should sail through permits gets held up for weeks because of a setback issue that could have been fixed at the design stage. Or a surveyor flags a ResCode non-compliance that no one picked up in three rounds of drawing reviews.

The Victorian building compliance landscape is genuinely complex. Between NCC requirements, ResCode provisions, individual council planning schemes, and a patchwork of overlays, there's a lot to keep across — especially when you're running multiple projects simultaneously.

Traditional compliance checks rely entirely on the professional knowledge of whoever reviews the drawings. That knowledge is valuable. But it doesn't scale, it doesn't catch everything, and it's not fast.

Lodgely is designed to work alongside professionals — catching the issues that are easy to miss under time pressure, so they're resolved before they cost anyone a delay.

Drew has spent 20 years as an architectural draftsperson, working across high-end custom homes, volume residential, and contract drafting for builders throughout Victoria. In that time he has seen the same avoidable compliance issues stall project after project — and built Lodgely to catch them before they cost anyone a delay.

Lodgely is designed to complement professional judgment, not replace it. We give experienced people better tools — not a crutch for skipping the fundamentals.

Always accurate, always current

Regulations change. We monitor updates to the NCC, Building Regulations, and VPP constantly and update the platform promptly when things change. You should always know you're checking against current requirements.

Honest about what we are

Lodgely is a powerful pre-lodgement tool — not a substitute for a registered building surveyor. We're transparent about this. A clean Lodgely report is a great start. A registered surveyor's sign-off is still how permits get issued.

Your data is yours

Project drawings are sensitive commercial information. We don't sell your data, we store it in Australia, and we make it easy to delete. Your projects belong to you.

Victorian-first

We started here because we know this market. Victorian planning schemes, ResCode, and the local council landscape are where our expertise runs deepest. We'd rather do this market properly than race to cover every state superficially.

Feedback-driven

Every flagged issue you mark as a false positive, and every missed issue you report, directly improves the platform for everyone. Our accuracy improves because practitioners trust us with feedback.
